Our San Diego Cultural Picks

We’ll Always Have San Diego…

Movies under the stars, gallery openings, and live performances are all a part of the autumn months in San Diego. Check out our favorite cultural activities for when the weather gets cooler (but no less beautiful!)

Of All the Gin Joints in the World…

Hair salon by day … backyard movie theatre by night! This intimate speakeasy-style theatre sits next to Tops Salon, and through the garden gate is a magical setup of comfortable lounge chairs, blankets, and treats for sale while you enjoy classic movies. This month’s screenings include Casablanca, Blazing Saddles, Roman Holiday, and Rear Window. Be sure to reserve your ticket early, seats go fast!

Liberty Station Happenings

Our proximity to Liberty Station makes it easy to enjoy any of the events, performances, and concerts that happen there every week. Liberty Station is a great place to kick off the night, with great restaurants and bars, outdoor concerts, and tons of shops to browse.

Local San Diego bands take to the stage for the outdoor concert series at Liberty Station. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, chairs, and treats to enjoy the performance. Arrive early to enjoy the rest of Liberty Park before the show starts, and prepare to get up and dance to this month’s headliner, Vaud & the Villains, a genre-bending 19-piece piece orchestra.

Outdoor Festivals

The San Diego Italian Film Festival is definitely something you want to check out in October. Showcasing the best new films to come out of Italian studios, this multi-genre festival will be held at the Museum of Photographic Arts.

La Jolla Art & Wine Festival

Beautiful La Jolla, delicious wine and food, and fine art—what more could you want out of an evening? The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival is sure to tickle your finer pallet with its combination of high class art and delicately flavored food and wine pairings. Held annually on Girad Avenue, October 6-7.
