Humphreys Concert Season

Now that you know San Diego is one of the most significant cities in the United States music industry, where stars like Jason Mraz and Jewel got their start, you’re probably wondering where you can experience this scene for yourself. While San Diegans are known to disagree on a few things, from the best craft beer to the best shopping neighborhood, when it comes to music venues, pretty much everyone will point you to Humphreys. April marks the return of concert season at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay. Several shows are on sale now and the rest of the season will be announced on March 29th. Read on for more information and history of this San Diego summer tradition!

History

In the years since the concert series originated in 1982, it has hosted some of the most sought-after jazz, rock, comedy, blues, folk, and international-music acts in the business. Some of our dazzling guests include former Beatle and Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame inductee Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, and Jimmy Buffett. Rock band America is our most-played act, having performed here roughly 25 times. Find a list of our previous performers here.

Venue

Our Humphreys Concerts by the Bay entertainment venue overlooks the San Diego Bay from Shelter Island. This intimate 1,450-seat outdoor theater has hosted world-renowned performers since 1982, covering all spectrums of entertainment. This unique venue has unparalleled charm – surrounded by San Diego Bay, swaying palm trees, and the twinkling lights of the private marina.

 

Lineup

Select shows have been announced and are on sale now, including Lupe Fiasco, Marina, Boz Scaggs, and Michael Franti & Spearhead. The full 2020 lineup will be announced on March 29th; you can keep up to speed on our website.

Step your evening with one of our special dinner or hotel packages. Dinner Show Packages include dinner in Humphreys restaurant prior to the show and tickets in the first 7 rows for the performance. Premium Packages include 2 concert tickers in rows 1-5, dinner for 2 in Humphreys Restaurant and overnight accommodations in a room, junior suite, or suite at Humphreys Half Moon Inn.
