Enjoy the Festival, the Parade, and More

San Diego Pride weekend returns July 13 through July 15, 2018, and this year’s theme is “Persist with Pride.” Use our guide to SD Pride to learn more about the weekend’s many events and activities, which include a festival, the annual parade, and more, all in celebration and support of San Diego’s LGBT community.

The Rally

Kicking off the weekend, San Diego Pride’s Spirit of Stonewall Rally is a lively gathering that recognizes individuals, organizations, and groups that have contributed significantly to the LGBT community. Join the cheering crowds as they celebrate the leadership, activism, and other contributions of the honorees.

The Parade

Held in June of 1974, the original parade saw 400 people march and rally in Balboa Park. Parade contingents are required to register in advance; however, this community event is free to enjoy as a spectator.

Where: The parade begins at the Hillcrest Pride Flag at University Ave. and Normal St., proceeds west on University Ave., turns south on 6th Ave., turns left onto Balboa Dr. and ends at Quince Dr.

The Festival

One of the marquee events of the weekend, the festival will include a diverse array of talented performers across multiple stages, with Grammy Award-winning group TLC set to headline on Sunday. In addition, the event will feature vendors, exhibits, food booths, and more; single-day and weekend passes are available.

When: July 14, noon – 10pm; and July 15, 11am – 9pm
Where: Marston Pt., Balboa Park (6th Ave. & Laurel St.)
