Best for Families: Carlsbad, CA

Located along the Pacific Ocean coastline just north of San Diego, Carlsbad is a beautiful seaside destination that offers an abundance of family-friendly attractions. Visit the perennially popular LEGOLAND® theme park, spend the afternoon at Carlsbad State Beach, or explore the trails at Batiquitos Lagoon. If you’re fortunate enough to visit during the spring, you can check out the stunning Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch.
Best for Couples: Temecula, CA

Best for Groups of Friends: Tijuana, Mexico

Pack your passport: Tijuana is located just across the Mexico-United States border, and you can easily make your way to this vibrant destination by catching the San Diego Trolley. Stroll along Avenida Revolución and browse the souvenir shops, or head to the Centro Cultural Tijuana and view the exhibits or IMAX theater. And no visit to Tijuana would be complete without sampling some of the delicious cuisine—especially the street tacos.
