Spend a warm Thanksgiving with your family enjoying special holiday events in San Diego. Extend your stay to enjoy events leading up to and coming after Turkey Day.
It's a goose, not a turkey, that kicks off Thanksgiving season in San Diego. The Mother Goose Parade in El Cajon on 11/19 is the biggest parade in San Diego. Enjoy floats, clowns, equestrians, cool cars, and other great entertainment along the route.
Work up an appetite for the big Thanksgiving dinner by taking part in one of the many turkey trots around San Diego on Thanksgiving morning, 11/23. Most of the events raise money for charity and with a focus on family fun rather than finish times, running or walking one of the races a great way to start the day.
Another way to bond with your family this holiday is to spend the day at one of the area's theme parks. Both SeaWorld and Legoland are open for the holiday, as is the San Diego Zoo. You can even enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at the zoo's restaurant.
For a different kind of Thanksgiving dinner, head out to sea. The Hornblower Thanksgiving Dinner Cruise features a full buffet with your favorite Thanksgiving trimmings, with plenty of pie and other scrumptious desserts. Enjoy views of the San Diego skyline and DJ for dancing along with your meal.
Then head back to Humphreys Half Moon Inn and spend Thanksgiving happy to be together with the people you love. Stroll or bike the waterfront paths, or simply hang out together poolside. Be sure to get a good night's sleep in our comfortable rooms--you won't want to miss Black Friday shopping or Surfin' Santa's arrival at Seaport Village on Saturday!
