Spring training is over and it's game on! Baseball season has started, so come to San Diego and root for the home team, the San Diego Padres, as they play their home games in Petco Park.
The San Diego Padres have a great record, winning the National League pennant twice. Last year wasn't their best season, and we're hoping for a better result this year. The San Diego Padres schedule in April has some great games at home, playing three games against the Giants, the Diamondbacks, and the Marlins.
Special events make game day even more exciting. Friday nights before the games, there's the Party in the Park -- pregame happy hour, with music, food, and drinks. There'll be a laser show after the Giants game on April 8. Bring your young baseball fan to a Sunday game and they'll enjoy the KidsFest at the park. Be sure to check the calendar for other game day activities, too, like the kids' post-game base run on April 9.
Tickets start at $15, and there are special appreciation discounts for members of the military and first responders. You can even visit the stadium on days when there isn't a game for a tour that lets you see more than you can from seats in the bleachers--you'll go into the press box and even the dugouts.
After the game, celebrate your team's win or drown your sorrows over their loss with drinks at Humphreys restaurant or Backstage LIVE music club. We're just 6 miles from Petco Park, so you can almost hear the cries of "Play Ball!"
