San Diego is a beautiful place to go for a run, so why not go the distance? The San Diego Half Marathon on March 12 lets you enjoy the sights of the city and perfect southern California weather.
The course starts in Petco Park before following city streets down to the harbor. You'll run within view of the water and the city skyline, pass Balboa Park's palm trees, and end up in the historic Gaslamp District for a post-race party.
Because everything is more fun with a friend, form a team and race together. There are even prizes for the biggest teams! If you don't think you're ready for the big race yet, you can follow one of their training plans to up your stamina, or partner with a buddy and split the challenge in the Half-Marathon Relay. There's also a 5K race open to runners and walkers of all abilities.
The San Diego Half Marathon & 5K Sport Health & Fitness Expo is where you'll go to pick up your race packet, and spend some extra time there to check out the vendors and pick up samples and other goodies. Seminars will give you tips to help you make your best race time.
