San Diego proudly claims the title Craft Beer Capital of America, with more than 100 breweries and microbreweries around the county. These master brewers come together to present their best offerings at San Diego Beer Week, running November 4 - 13.
Start your visit at the 2-day kick-off celebration. The Guild Fest on Nov 4 & 5 lets you raise a glass while raising money for charity. There'll be more than 60 breweries, some offering beers brewed exclusively for this event, plus food and entertainment. You can attend a 30-minute Beer College session to educate your palate.
On Nov 13, take yourself over to the Beer Garden and settle in for a beer-and-food pairing event that offers 28 local beers paired with 14 local chefs for a unique tasting and dining event.
The Beer Train Trolley, running daily during the event, is your best way to explore breweries around San Diego County. The tour offers a flight of four beers at each of four breweries, plus a behind the scenes tour and lunch. It's a great, comfortable way to enjoy a scenic ride along with great local craft beers.
San Diego's beer culture merges with San Diego's Mexican culture at the Escondido Tamale Festival on Nov 5. Enjoy great Mexican food and music along with your local brews for a uniquely San Diego experience.
Help pick the best San Diego beer at the Battle of the Guilds on Nov 11. There are three brewing guilds in San Diego, and 15 members of each guild will be at this event to show off their good and compete for the Golden Key. Be sure to taste everything so you can cast an informed vote!
Humphreys Half Moon Inn is a great place to base yourself for this event. You can head out to your day of beer tastings, then come back to the hotel to burn off those calories in our fitness center or walking, jogging, or biking along our waterfront paths. Or keep the party mood going and head to a concert at adjacent Humphreys by the Bay. However you decide to end the day, our rooms and suites will let you settle in comfortably for the night.
