California Sunshine mixes perfectly with Christmas lights for a bright holiday season! Here's your guide to holiday season events around San Diego.
Come to Little Italy to see the tree and poinsettia tower; the lighting ceremony on December 3 is part of a holiday party with food, entertainment, and a visit from Santa Claus.
Homes bedecked with holiday lights abound in San Diego country, including in nearby Point Loma. Take an after-dinner drive through our gorgeous neighborhoods made more beautiful by seasonal illuminations. Since San Diego is a waterfront city, you'll also find lots of lights out on the water, , the Mission Bay Christmas Boat Parade of Lights or the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights on December 11 and December 18 (viewable directly across the street from the hotel).
Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? We can't offer snow, but the musical White Christmas, playing November 25 - December 4, showcases Irving Berlin's class songs. If you dream of sugar plum fairies, head to the Civic Theatre to see more than 150 dancers in The Nutcracker, running from December 10 - December 24. Hear Christmas carols before the show, and stay after to give your little ballerinas the chance to meet the cast. If you believe in Christmas miracles, take in the Miracle on 34th Street told as a radio broadcast from December 1 - 24.
You can also experience the holiday spirit at Humphreys Half Moon Inn. Set on the water and near all of San Diego's attractions, the resort gives you both easy access to all the festivities and a quiet retreat where you can celebrate simply being with your loved ones.
