Everyone loves a parade, and you have two chances to enjoy the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. The holiday tradition is celebrating its 46th year with illuminated boats lighting up San Diego Bay on December 10 and December 17.\rMore than 80 boats will take part in this year's parades, all decked out with lights and other decorations in keeping with the theme Arrrgh! A Pirate's Christmas. They'll set sail from Shelter Island and head past Harbor Island and the Embarcadero as they make their way to Coronado Ferry Landing.\rSettle in for about one hour to watch the parade. You can enjoy viewing them from Shelter Island, where Humphreys Half Moon Inn is located, or head over to the Embarcadero or Coronado Ferry Landing to get extra insight as an announcer details the boats' history as they parade along.\rTurn viewing the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights into an event at the San Diego Maritime Museum. Their parade-viewing dinner includes music, a buffet, and a great view of the boats. You can also set sail yourself and watch the boats from out on the water; both Flagship and Hornblower offer special parade-viewing cruises. \rYou'll always have beautiful views of the water from Humphreys Half Moon Inn. Paths right at our doorstep let you walk or bike along the Shelter Island waterfront, and our restaurant has floor-to-ceiling views. Whether lit up by the boat parade or simply sparkling with moonlight and starlight, the water is always beautiful when you stay at Humphreys Half Moon Inn in San Diego.
